EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Must have one of the following certifications: Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure DBA or AWS Certified Database or CompTIA Data+ or any related certification.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 6+years of experience as a DBA or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and at least one other database system.
- Strong proficiency in database tuning, backup, and recovery across multiple systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, and PowerShell for the automation of regular tasks.
- Architected and implemented advanced multi-site replication strategies, allowing real-time data access for global branches and ensuring business continuity.
- Collaborated with the IT Cybersecurity teams of each subsidiary to standardize and enforce database security policies, achieving uniform compliance and fortifying data protection group-wide.
- Developed a centralized automated backup and disaster recovery plan using RMAN, MySQL dump, and Barman, ensuring all companies within the group had consistent RTO and RPO benchmarks.
- Facilitated seamless cross-platform data migrations, especially during the onboarding of new companies into the group's IT ecosystem
- Collaborated with the DevOps team to containerize database services using Docker, and orchestrated deployments on Kubernetes for scalability and resilience.
- Collaborated with application teams from various companies, providing them with optimized database views, stored procedures, and ETL pipelines to meet diverse business analytics needs.
- Led the initiative to transition legacy databases to cloud solutions (AWS RDS and Azure SQL), orchestrating the lift-and-shift strategy while optimizing for cloud-native benefits
